The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has linked the King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam to the Indian Subcontinent with a new shipping route, the Indian Subcontinent Mediterranean Express (IMX) service, according to a company statement. The IMX service is run by a consortium of Unifeeder, the largest feeder and shortsea network in Europe, Qatar-based logistics and maritime firm Milaha, and the world’s largest feeder carrier, Singapore-based X-Press Feeders.
About IMX: The Hapag-Lloyd AG-operated shipping service operates between ports in the Indian subcontinent, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean region. The shipping service includes three vessels, each with a capacity of 3,500 TEUs. The IMX route will also stop at the ports of Jebel Ali, Khalifa, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Hazira and Hamad in addition to King Abdulaziz Port, according to the statement.
