Saudi Arabia to develop new road projects in Tabuk: Saudi Arabia inaugurated the Emirates Road Development projects for the country’s Tabuk province, consisting of three overpasses and three bridges worth SAR 143 mn, SPA reports.

The details: The project will improve connectivity by implementing a bridge at the intersection of Tabuk-Al-Jouf road with Tabuk-Tayma-Al-Qalbiya road, as well as an overhead intersection of three bridges to complete the dual carriageway of Tabuk-Duba road stretching 6 km, SPA notes. These developments are part of 33 projects implemented in the region over the past decade with a combined cost of SAR 2.4 bn.

Tabuk’s recent developments: The province’s branch of the Road General Authority announced a road network in October of over 8k km with over 200 bridges built to support commercial, tourist and social activities, according to SPA. The road network will connect the region to Saudi Arabia’s projects, such as NEOM, AMAALA, and The Red Sea,while serving pilgrims traveling from the northern parts of the world to the two holy mosques.

ICYMI- Jordan has been looking to establish a new border crossing with Saudi Arabia since August 2023 to reduce congestion at the Durah crossing, to connect Aqaba with KSA’s border in Tabuk Province.
