Details: The new vessel, dubbed Al Shelila, is slated to go on immediate hire with an undisclosed “top-tier, global energy trader,” says the statement. The move is set to bolster the company’s handling capacity, as the new ship has a maximum capacity of 175k metric tons, expanding on its current LNG carriers which hold a capacity of 137k metric tons. The ship is designed to cap greenhouse emissions by up to 50% in comparison to older-generation models by using energy-efficient technology, including two new-generation LNG dual-fuel main engines.
