UAE defense giant Edge unveiled its 300 kg payload drone helicopter, dubbed the GY 300, at the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, The National reports. While unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have mainly been used for surveillance operations, there has been a spike in demand to use the aerial vehicles for cargo, Edge’s international business vice president Miles Chambers told The National.

Details: The heavy-duty drone can take off and land on rough terrain and access remote locations, making it ideal for making deliveries to remote rural areas. The GY 300 uses a fuel engine to travel up to 400 km, with a cruise speed to around 120 kph and a max speed to 160 kph, according to The National. The company says that the drone is ready for the market, but did not disclose its price.
